Hoot book review

 Today is Wednesday March 26,2014. We have just completed another novel,Hoot. The protagonist in the book is Roy, I know that Roy is the protagonist because he is the main character and he is always involved in every situation. The antagonist in the book is Chuck Muckle. Chuck Muckle is the antagonist because he wants to bulid a Pancake House and he is going to burry the owls and that will kill them. The main conflict is the story is that they are going to build a Pancake House on the owls. The resolution of hoot was when all the kids joined hands and would not let the builders destroy the owls home or they would have to destroy the kids too! 

My three favorite parts of hoot were when they found the owls at the construction site. Another part was when they saved the owls because they did not want the owls to die. My last favorite part was when they did not build the Pancake House. My least favorite part was when Lonna was always so mean to her son and abandoned him and now she is trying to act like a good mom to be on television.

If I could be any character in the book I would be Roy because he travels a lot and he gets to go to beautiful places and ride planes. 

Overall this book was exellent because it was about standing up for what you believe in and to achieve it and they had a dream and held onto that dream and now they saved baby owls! 

Snowy Owl

What i'm working on is a Snowy Owl. A Snowy Owl builds it's nest on the ground. A Snowy Owl eats lemmings, rabbits, and ducks. It's predator is a red fox. Snowy Owls need food, water, and a shelter to live. A Snowy Owl is black and white. A Snowy Owl lays 5-8 eggs at a time. A Snowy Owlet stays with it's mom for 49-54 days before it can go out on it's own. A Snowy Owl lives in Tundra. It is usually 24 degrees or lower in Tundra or Antartica. A Snowy Owl can eat 3-5 Lemmings per day!

Owls hoot for communication purposes. Owls have advanced eye sight and have good hearing. A group of owls is called a parliament. A baby owl is called an owlet. Owls do not hibernate. You can find snowy owls in Tundra or Antarctica. The largest owls in the world are called Eurasian Eagle Owls. The smallest owls in the world are the Elf Owls. There is 220-225 kinds of owls in the world.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

We finished our 4th novel The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbra Robinson. The main characters in this novel are the Herdmans. The way I would describe the Herdmans are mean. The one thing that surprised me about the book was Imogine being Mary. A few character traits that I found in the novel were mean but Alice was nice. My favoite character in the novel was Imogine because she was funny. We are going to read the sequel to this novel,The Best Worst School Year over break. I'm looking coward to reading this because I love reading books. I think this book was good because it had a lot of stuff about Baby Jesus and it was also funny. If I could have one of the Herdmans as my friend I would choose Imogine because even though she's bad,She is good deep down inside.

Here's the scoop

Today is Friday,November 15,2013 and the weather is getting terrible.we have been working hard in math.we learned new divisibility rules.divisibily is when you add and also go by even numbers and stuff.

we have also learned to find the greatest common factor.In order to find the GCF you need to times all the factors and then put them from least to greatest.

Number of the day is 33.We take a number and add subtracts times and we also do picture graphs.

Mrs.Binge,s 6th grade class is selling snack pack passes for one dollar if you are good you are able to buy a snack pass for one dollar.

Congratulations to the boys that made it on the basketball team;Tyler,Kaderius,Jacobe,Jamel,Kamilian and Trelyn.There first game is Tuesday at the disc at 3:45.

Our next states and capitals test is wensday,November 20,2013.I am currently studing to take states.I am sure I will do ok.There is a song on YouTube that we have been using to help us with our states.I really dislike that song.

We have also been studing lots of  Vocabulary words.each week we made flash cards,work on sentences,graphic organizers and made videos with our I pads.My favorite word we have learned so far is monopoly.The definition of monopoly is control of a product or service by one company.

Our holiday program is December 12,th at 12:45.The 5,th graders will be singing jingle bell rock and we will jingle.

In reding we are reading loser.The book is about a boy who is funny and inpatient.I like this boom because it is very good.

Also Mrs.Norma brings us art projects.Mrs.Norma is alway so geniurious I think every body loves Mrs.Norma she has a very kind heart.

Shiloh book review

Today is Thursday October 24'2013. We have just completed our second novel Shiloh. The protagonist in the book is Judd travers. A protagonist is bully in the book. The antagonist in the book is   Marty. An antagonist is the main character in the story who fight agents the protagonist

The main conflict in the story is when Marty took Shiloh and Shiloh belonged to Judd Travers. 

The resolution of Shiloh is when Marty worked for Judd so that way he would get to keep Shiloh.

My favorite part of the book was when Marty got to keep Shiloh.

My least favorite part of Shiloh was when Judd kicked Shiloh.If I could be any on of the characters in the book I would be Dara Lynn. I would be Dara Lynn because she's cute adorable and funny.

I would recomend this book to another student because this is a very good book this has a lot of action in it.

Today is October 4 2013.It has been a bad week.I did horrible on my states test.I will continue working on my states.The one thing i find difficult about learning my states is that there is 50 states that we have to memorize.

In my math we have been working on place value.I think place value is hard.

We woked on iTunes U with mrs.ellis in math.I really loved it.The most interesting thing working with iTunes you do assignments.

We started a new novel Shiloh.It is about a boy and a dog and the boy wanted to keep the dog.The one thing I like so far about the novel is that you get to read.The one thing is didn't like is nothing.One character trait that describes the main character Marty is very confident.

October is breast cancer awareness month.Three important facts about it are more that 180,000 American woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.A woman with stage 4 lung cancer has a 20% chance of living for 5 years.Blood pressur drugs tied to breast cancer risk.

Grades come out in a couple of weeks.Im sure i did very well I have confidants in myself.
